Dear Tango Friends,

Gozo is in the focus now!

Free taster classes and Milonga Nocturna are to be part of Notte Gozitana this coming weekend.

All events are free of charge.
All are welcome and encouraged to join, to mix with any new people and have fun.

Ferry leaves Malta at 20.20, 21.35, 22.50, 00.05. Return ferries are at 23.30, 01.15, 03.30, 05.00.

26th May 2011: Milonga @ Villa Madama

The Wine Gardens at Villa Madama, Balzan (map) will be hosting our Milonga on Thursday 26th May from 9.00pm onwards. Tango music will be provided by DJ D.NET
Entrance is €3.

Just before the milonga, also at Villa Madama, 7.30pm - 9.00pm Nathalie will be holding a Primeros Pasos class.

Thursday 19th May - Primeros Pasos +Tango party practica

Primeros Pasos - 7.30pm - 9.00pm
9.00pm we party and we practice in a homey setting at Jelena's flat. Everybody is welcome to join.

New Beginners Course

Argentine Tango - Primeros Pasos

(introductory course for complete beginners)

taught by Nathalie Mifsud

Argentine tango is a beautiful dance found throughout most major cities in the world.

In this course you will learn the foundations of tango with technique through some fun elements. The course system is wisely chosen so that you may be able to dance anywhere in the world.

DAYS: Thursdays x 5

There is always a slight possibility that venues might change last minute beyond my control. So always please check the website from a couple of days before, calendar or give me a ring. If there are any changes I normally will send e mails too.
Problems with transport usually can somehow be arranged with other people, of course at their convenience. Let me know.

PRICE:

• €50 per person / €35 for full-time students & senior citizens.

Other information..

DRESS: What you want, normally, casual.

SHOES: Followers (usually women) are advised to wear well supported shoes with some heel.NO FLIP FLOPS. Leaders (usually men) are advised to wear round toed shoes or gym shoes. No long pointed shoes, they make life difficult.

IMPORTANT: Payment can be effected on the first lesson. NO refunds will be issued for missed classes, unless informed at the beginning of the course.

Cozy Il-Forn wine bar in Birgu (map) will be our special choice for the Milonga this week.
Thursday, 12th May from 9pm onwards.

Tango music will be provided by DJ David Bonnici.

Workshops con sabor - Art of walking and Side stepping or change of weight?

Two fun workshops applying general dance technique and more, of 1.30 hours each or a little bit more if needed

Sat 7th THE ART OF WALKING
There are many levels to walking, as Geraldine Rojas (one of my favourite dancers) said "you can keep digging"
We will make it function well, perfect it, explore new depths, play with inside and outside partner walking, and play with the music.
You may use this workshop up to whatever level you would like to.

Sat 14th SIDE STEP OR CHANGE OF WEIGHT?

Side stepping with flavour, and playful changes of weight to the music are the subjects of this workshop.
Giving new depths to your dance. By the way, this is what makes the dance look passionate/sexy etc... the texture you give to your movement.

Time is at 7.00pm. Practice session after

Price 10 euros per workshop. (Class Card is not valid )

Bring thick socks to work in, and shoes.. and water.
